Map data
Social's map of Saskatoon is made from open data. Here is where it comes from, and the part we made that you can take and use.
Saskatoon's buildings, with heights
Every building outline in OpenStreetMap for Saskatoon and the area around it, each with a height in metres and a note on where that height came from.
The heights come from LiDAR, laser scans of the city from the air published by Natural Resources Canada: for each building, the height of its roof above the ground, taken a metre in from its outline. Where there is no scan, or the building is newer than the scan, the height comes from OpenStreetMap's own height or number of floors, and failing both it is set to 5 metres.

Each building has osm_type and osm_id (its OpenStreetMap way or relation), building, name, height and min_height in metres, and height_src: lidar, osm_height, osm_levels or default.
It's available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0 (opens in a new tab). If you use it, credit "© OpenStreetMap contributors" and "Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada", and share what you build from it under the same licence.

- Routes between a plan's stops follow OpenStreetMap's streets and paths (© OpenStreetMap contributors (opens in a new tab), ODbL), worked out on our own server. Drive times are estimates from typical speeds on each kind of road.
- The Meewasin Trail on the map is OpenStreetMap's (© OpenStreetMap contributors (opens in a new tab), ODbL): the paths named for it and its route, joined where a short stretch of path by the river links two parts. The parks named along it are OpenStreetMap's too. Where OpenStreetMap doesn't have a part of the trail yet, neither does the map.
